“Through time ” by Chris Rayn, 2005

Despite all claims: some of the old Shanghai still exists – significant living witnesses of the town's changeful history have been preserved, like 17th century Yu Yuan Garden with its splendid Qing dynasty buildings. But even these islands of tradition are dominated the city's new symbols.
