Cycle III: Nature of Reality

Nature of Reality employs surreal and experimental imagery created through light, shadows and reflections to investigate the relationship between perception, identity and existence. Across a number of interconnected series, this more abstract cycle draws on perceptual phenomena such as optical illusions, Gestalt principles and pareidolia to expose the instability of human perception and question the reliability of what we believe we see. By treating perception not as a passive recording of reality, but as an active process of interpretation and collective negotiation, the works ask to what extent our understanding of ourselves and the world is internally constructed, or rather shaped by the experiences and environments that surround us.
